This week's featured album art is a plug for our upcoming listening party on Sunday, featuring the music of Ornette Coleman. Atlantic released the album Ornette! in 1962 as a follow-up to his infamous Free Jazz: A Collective Improvisation from the prior year. The latter featured a painting by Abstract Expressionist Jackson Pollock and the former features an equally frenetic design by John Jagel, whose son Jason is continuing in his footsteps by designing album covers for such hip-hop artists as Madlib and MF Doom. W.R.U. track from the Ornette! album below.
